San Juan, La Rioja & Catamarca Circuit: Triassic Era and Ancestral Adobe Routes

Day 1

Transfer from San Juan Airport or Bus Terminal. Accommodation at the selected hotel.

2:30 PM – Grand City Tour: City and Surroundings: Auditorio Juan Victoria, Casa Natal de Sarmiento, Cathedral, Teatro del Bicentenario (external visit), Merced del Estero Winery or Campo de Olivos Olive Oil Mill or Finca Sierras Azules, and Dique de Ullum. (The sites mentioned may be replaced by others depending on availability and opening hours.)

Day 2

Breakfast. Transfer to Valle Fértil. Visit to Parque Provincial Natural Ischigualasto or Valle de la Luna, a Natural World Heritage Site, and the Natural Sciences Museum. Overnight in Villa Unión.

Day 3

Breakfast. Departure to visit Parque Nacional Talampaya. Overnight in Villa Unión.

Day 4

Breakfast. Departure to Chilecito via Cuesta de Miranda. Tour of Chilecito, including Cable Carril Station 1, the Mining Museum, and Station 2 for panoramic views. Continue the journey to Tinogasta, Catamarca. Overnight in Tinogasta.

Day 5

Breakfast. Tour along the so-called “Ruta del Adobe.” Visit to Termas de Fiambalá, with free time to enjoy the hot springs. Overnight in Tinogasta. (Subject to availability of the thermal complex.)

Day 6

Breakfast. Departure to La Rioja, stopping at the Inca Ruins of Shincal in Londres, Catamarca. Continue to the city of La Rioja, passing through Aimogasta, Anillaco, and Dique Los Sauces. Tasting of typical regional products and opportunity to purchase local specialties. Overnight in La Rioja.

Day 7

Breakfast. Transfer out in La Rioja, or transfer to San Juan with transfer out starting from 5:00 PM.

(*) Due to availability or operational reasons, the order of park visits may be reversed. In Talampaya, the Classic “Cañón de Talampaya” Experience is reserved by default. Passengers pay park entrance fees and the circuit on site.
