About the destination: Tucumán is a province of argentina, located in the Northwest of Argentina, also forming part of the Region of the Northern Grande Argentina. The city has great historical importance as it was the scene of the Congress of Tucumán between the years 1816 and 1820, which, among other things, declared the independence of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata to Spain and in pre-Columbian times were seated ancient civilizations, including those of culture Candelaria, Tafi culture that has left their menhirs as more eye-catching relicts and the modernly called Condorhuasi culture. It is also the province of the lower surface of the Argentina and the second most densely populated in the country, only surpassed by the city of Buenos Aires. Ultimately the region presents very active and focused on cultural tourism destination, travelers who choose to visit it will not repent.

About the destination: "Salta is a city located in the Lerma Valley in the North West part of Argentina and it is also the name for the capital city of the Salta Province. It’s a metropolitan area, it has a population of 619,000 inhabitants, which makes it the second most populated city in the northwest of the country. Salta has a subtropical highland climate and it is famous in Argentina for having very pleasant weather. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Cabildo, the old town hall, of 1783, on the Plaza 9 de Julio. Now houses the Museo Histórico del Norte • MAAM museum. The Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña exhibits the discovery of the three incas 'Llullaillaco Children' found frozen at the peak of Mount Llullaillaco. They are some of the best preserved mummies in the world (Tu-Su and holidays 11AM-7:30PM). • Iglesia San Francisco, on the corner of Caseros and Córdoba, of 1796, beautiful church with remarkable tower. • Cerro San Bernardo, 1458 m hill just east of the city centre. From Parque San Martin, a cable car. Goes to the summit, 430 metres up the hill overlooking the city, offering spectacular views of the city and its surroundings. Taking 1070 steps up the hill (leaving from the statue of Güemes a little bit north of the cable car station) is another option (about 30 mins). A vast water feature has been built with many interesting features. A meal or a beer is available at the top at reasonable rates. A good way to fill in a couple of hours when it is clear. • Museo Antropológico. Offers a very interesting insight into various indigenous cultures, which have flourished throughout the centuries in this part of Argentina. Avenida Ejército del Norte. • Pajcha. A fantastic museum in Salta and definitely worth a look. It is called ""Pajcha"" and is a collection of traditional art, textiles, icons and jewlery from all over South and Central America. It is facinating. The enthusiasm is palpable and fantastic learning from a knowledgeable source. • Tren a las Nubes, Train to the clouds. As the name tells, it is a day trip by train up in the mountains to La Povorilla at 4220 meters over the sea level. Currently the service has been taken over by the argentine government. It runs from April to November, one time a week (Saturday) with extra services during the high season (Easter & winter holiday). The experience is fantastic as the scenery is rugged and variable with a feast for the eyes at every turn. • Museo El Tribuno Guillermo Pajerrito Velarde, Pueyrredon Wonderfull small house-museum that is a tribute to Velarde (1895-1965), who was a lawyer and banker, but more important a bohemian patron of arts, especially tango, when it was still not accepted by society in Salta. Mo-fr 10am-2pm,3pm-6pm, sa 10am-2pm. "

4. Purmamarca
Stay
About the destination: Purmamarca is a town in the Tumbaya Department of the Jujuy Province in Argentina. The Quebrada de Humahuaca was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003, increasing the interest of both national and international tourism to the area. The colonial style and the Cerro de Siete Colores, as well as limited yet growing lodging options, make the town an interesting destination for tourists visiting the Argentine North. Most other economic activities are linked to the tourism, including the manufacturing of handicrafts that are then sold at the local market in the main plaza, to lodging and tours. The city's attraction include the aforementioned Cerro de los Siete Colores and the town handicraft market. It also serves as a starting point for treks such as the Paseo de los Colorados and Purmamarca River, and tours to Salinas Grandes, the Huachichocana archaeological site and the Laguna de Guayatayoc with its pink flamencos and wild geese.
